    One of my wife’s 6th grade students didn’t eat lunch today because there was an issue with their account and they didn’t want to be seen eating the cheese sandwich that is given to students without funds in their lunch account. This is the America we live in.

        Sadly, this is America we live in. I have a request from a local support organization for food gift cards for a youngster in the area. It breaks my heart. Glad the well to do are enjoying their tax cut.

        I can't recall why my child's district provides breakfast/ lunch (I think it involves the ed. dep. in CA & incomes), but it thankfully has for about 4yrs... it's always heartbreaking to hear these stories

        Honestly, this has been this way for 20 years for me. I am lucky enough to afford it but if u missed the email or call, my kid was screwed.. including my 9 yr. old with #adhd and #autism... change the SYSTEM
