People from Europe are European, from Australia, Austrian. So why can't people from North America (Central America) be called North Americans. We get Latino, Latina, latinx, Chicano, Hispanic or somehow we are all just Mexican. Is it just me or does this bug other people too?

People from Australia are Australian, Austrians live in Europe. I am from South America, and there we wonder why only people in US should be able to call themselves Americans...

Australia = Australian Austria = Austrian I usually say Hispanic. I can tell the difference in accents between Mexican and Spain Spanish and Puerto Rican and Colombian... so I usually ask just to be sure. It is our differences that make the world an interesting place.

I have a friend, he won't accept being called Latin, asked where is Latin, or Hispanic, I asked what should he be called he never did answer was busy on a rant on how Columbia isnt Spain and so he isn't hispanic, but being born in NJ he is American. his parents are from Columbia.
