This is not being experienced here. Domestic bee numbers hit all time highs in 2017. We are looking at feral bees now interfering with the recovery efforts for native pollinator species.

Over-winter loss of 40% isn't unusual. Would our German strain bees be beneficial to you? They seem to be quite resistant to mites and other issues. One thing we may have done different here is banning lawn pesticides. Dandelions are a critical early spring food source.

Mites are a big problem and the pesticides used next to areas that bring in bees for the almond pollination. But bigger picture all insects are on a downward spiral and are expected to be extinct under 100 years.
