I once had someone tell me you get butterflies because you care. When you stop being nervous maybe the passion is gone. So, it's a good thing! I've been a public speaker for 30 years and still get them.

Chamomile tea is very calming. I had horrible speech butterflies but when what you have to say is important, that transcends. Also having a pen or memento from a mentor in your pocket helps if you've no visual aids to use.
