Have you ever heard "I'm not racist I have black friends"? The mere fact that you distinguish your friends by the color of their skin makes you a racist. Maybe being on the receiving end of racism has made me biasd. Is this an accurate assessment?

I see your point and I’ve never stood in your shoes or any minorities shoes so I don’t have your perspective but I don’t think most white people say it or think it randomly. It’s in response to being called a racist normally. It’s defensive I think.
That's a strong possibility but a simple no would do. Or I am not I treat everyone equal or I treat people how they treat me. But like I said that's just me.

Thanks 4taking the time to explain your view. I agree that definitely would be the best way to response. I was genuinely trying to understand a different point of view and I think I do see what you mean even if I don’t agree that EVERY time someone responds like that it’s racist.

Nothing is absolute and every rule has exceptions. I understand my own limitations to my view on things which is why I asked the question because I knew I had a biased opinion. And thanks for talking I appreciate it.
