What qualifies as animals to you? Do insects, spiders and other living things count? I am being honest not trying to be mean or anything. I would really like to know.

I’ve been a vegetarian for 30 years, originally only for ethical reasons. Now that I’m middle aged, I’m happy to abstain for health reasons, too - plus environmental reasons.
-
What ethical reasons? If you don't mind sharing.

Have you made other changes aside from the change in diet? Exercise, less stress or other habits? I have a friend who eats meat but took out all processed sugars and feels healthier and even lowered their anxiety levels. I wonder if its the additives.

Try to walk 6-10 km everyday. In the warm half of the year 1 km swim+less walking. Absolutely no ambitions anymore. Relax and enjoy. Easy in the beautiful surroundings here. Nice food. Friendly people.

Health and climate. I know the largest contribution to climate change is oil, but cows are right up there as polluters. I enjoy meat, but eat way less than I used to.
-
Have you switched to other meats like fish or just eat less in general?

My body just feels better when I don’t eat meat. I will eat fish now and then, but very rarely anything else.

I have a niece who is a vegetarian because of a medical condition.

I've never heard of that, that must be difficult to almost be forced. What is it called if you don't mind sharing.
