Lake Erie on target for a huge algae bloom this summer, due to no ice forming, due to high temps/ global warming. Few years ago, Nirthern Ohioans couldn’t drink the water or shower in it for nearly a week due to algae blooms.

Reportedly primarily from farm runoff draining into the lake. They’ve been increasing filtering systems at the water treatment plants, but farm runoff and pollution/causal factors still contribute.
