So let's say you wake up in the morning your phone doesn't work, no internet, no tv, no radio, and no other form of communication works. What do you do?

That’s a real thing in Northern California. That’s why many of us have and are learning how to use ham 📻 radios. We also have had to invest in generators, inverters and solar trickle panels and keep maps and Thomas Guides.

Oh wow! Is that because of the fires?

What really scares me is not having 911 working. When the power goes out no cell coverage. My husband is high risk for strokes (he’s had 7 of them)

Pg&e has a medical alert where they must notify people with as much time ahead of power shutoffs to prepare for it. I'm not sure how much that would help in your situation. Maybe a backup landline. Either way that is a difficult situation to deal with.

We do have a landline 📞 but it still requires PG&E. I’ve called ATT, Verizon, Xfinity etc to see they would reconnect the old landline, a *real* landline~ not one that requires PG&E. No one does it anymore. All these old houses once had real landlines.

Wow pg&e is just slacking at every turn. No wonder California is threatening to take them over.

And yes we get the medical alert sometimes before they cut it off.
