So let's say you wake up in the morning your phone doesn't work, no internet, no tv, no radio, and no other form of communication works. What do you do?

This happened to my neighborhood for a few days b/c of PG&E power shutoffs. The cell towers were out too. We were mostly fine but worried about lack of access to emergency help. I drove to a place where I could let my family know our situation.
I can't even imagine having to deal with that. I remember entire towns going dark because of their horribly maintained infrastructure and using power shutoffs as a way to "prevent" fires.

PG&E is trying to prevent terrible wildfires that keep happening during high winds in hot, dry conditions. They’ll be doing this for the foreseeable future but will hopefully learn to manage it better. Cell phone service providers will need to install back up generators too.

I keep hearing California wants to take them over for their negligence and substandard maintenance of their power lines not to mention their bankruptcy.
