@EricG1247 I am interested in your stance on the opioid epidemic? I’m startled to learn how many reports are inaccurate, & that chronic pain patients (CPP) have been cut off as if they’re addicts. Suicides up for CPPs, and Drs disciplined. Be glad to provide troubling information

I agree that there needs to be reliable alternatives. As a CPP with an incurable, genetic disease that creates debilitating pain, I would be nonfunctional without opioids. I’ve tried every alternate treatment w/ no results. To eliminate to all is a dangerous approach imho

As far as my research went I could not find anything even close to opioids for pain or any indication that there was research on trying to understand pain. The addictive aspect of it makes it dangerous but necessary until a viable alternative is found or created.

I’d be very interested in reading your paper if you’d be open to sharing? I’d love to introduce you to some CPP online groups who could share some eye opening facts facing CPPs. Even terminally ill have been tapered off. It’s kind of madness.

Once someone is terminal addiction is kind of a moot point, denying them relief is just messed up.
