I'm one person I can only know and see so much. What problems do you face in your life that a congressional hopeful may one day help with? Unclean water? Wage stagnation? Sexism? Racism? No medical coverage? Poor VA care? Unfair justice system? Anything else?

It effects too many. Accountability is the biggest issue at least from my experience they just don't care and the vets suffer. And the choice program is a joke as far as efficiency. A vet who can't go to VA gets to pick from local Drs and the VA picks up the tab no middle man.

Oh, I already know about the choice program, it is a joke. I had surgery back on June 19th of 2019. 2 weeks after the surgery, I knew something was wrong. The doctor's office blew me off. It has taken me this long to see another shoulder specialist.

I went to a Dr the VA said my referral was canceled because I was seeing an outside Dr (which was a choice Dr through the VA). Took 3 months to sort it out then wait for an appointment.

After 30 days, they are suppose to refer you to another doctor, either VA or an outside doctor.

I had to see my primary, get a referral again, wait for an appointment then wait for choice to call, then tell them I wanted to see the same Dr, then wait on authorization and then make an appointment.

More "hoops" to jump through. I've had enough of the red-tape to last me 3 lifetimes already. I'm 100% service-connected (finally). Only took them 32 years to figure it out.

Once I sent my new conditions in after i got out I got 100. The VA doesn't like to make it easy for any of us.

Oh, it only took them 32 years to do a MRI on my lower back, which I messed up in boot camp. Showed I had a bulging disc in L4/L5. By that time, Major Depressive Disorder from being in pain that long. They royally screwed up my right foot, 3 op's on it.

Efficient or caring at most VA facilities is non existent. That must have been difficult for you. I'm glad you finally got what you deserve.

Well, before I was discharged, I had 3 Congressional Investigations going against the hospital at Great Lakes Naval Base. I was subjected to malpractice. They almost killed me after my 2nd operation. Allergic to Demerol.
