It sounds good till you consider it means enforcing contact of some sort between the parents and the kids, who may be better off away from them, if they can find shelter. Or they might not kick the kids out but make their lives ongoing hell in the privacy of their own homes.

That's a good point on them keeping them essentially locked up. This is why I asked to get input and have people see different angles.

I'm smart enough to know that I know nothing. These are problems that we face as a country only through coming together and using our collective experience and knowledge do we stand any chance of changing it for the better.
