      #LGBTQ teens suffer high rates of homelessness due to being kicked out by families and other reasons. Would a law that requires parents who kick out their children have to pay something like child support to their children until 18 help? @cmclymer any thoughts?

      Kicking an underage child (meaning under 18 in most states) out of the house, without the child being emancipated, can often be considered child abandonment, which is a crime.https://blogs.findlaw.com/law_and_life/2013/05/can-parents-kick-teens-out-of-their-home.html …

      Sadly it does happen. I'm wondering if it would be legal for that child to sue their parent for abandonment.

      An easy process that could start at a police station, fire station or hospital would be best. Something that is an expedited process.
