At this point, he doesn’t know if he’s deploying in Jan. He’s the only one in the state who can do what he does. His unit is support for, basically him. Was told he won’t be deploying because he’s “mentally ill”.
That only lowers unit readiness. It's ridiculous you can be considered fit for duty one day and the policy changes and now you are not. Hopefully the policy will change once new leadership leads this country.

He’s a good smart kid too. Never been in trouble, exceptional work, smarter than most people. He’s the kind we should be begging to enlist. Being transgender didn’t change a thing. And he paid/pays for surgery and testosterone out of our insurance and his bank account
