My 6 year old came up to me and said dad if there is a shooter at my school and I cant hide I am going to get blood from a dead body put it on myself and pretend to be dead. This is what pushed me to run for Congress in CA 22nd district against @DevinNunes. I can no longer sit by

It broke mine too. It makes me proud and sad at the same time.

Children don't have active shooter drills in Canadian schools.
(They do lockdown/emergency drills, but no active shooter talk/preparation.)

It’s sad that these are the conversations we are having. As a teacher from a rural area in NY, we are twenty minutes from a police response and were told by law enforcement to do whatever we needed to do to stay alive... how has it gotten to this point?
