Agree the logic often makes no sense, but the more basic question is does exclusion do anything other than make someone feel better and put more $$ in the hands of the ETF sponsor?

Yeah the first part is my whole point. I can see someone buying to "feel better" and then waking up in 5yrs and finding out they don't hold 3/4 FANG names and Buffett and being like wtf? (second part re ETF sponsors, sure, true, altho MFs also offer)

Finding alpha in ESG is going to take some time and experience, I don't believe an ETF could encapsulate this just yet.

On the bond side a lot of green bonds are being issued from Africa and other EM/Frontier markets; this means the exposure to
#forex swings of the fund is unhedged; also it may have exposure to obscure, illiquid, ultra risky#bonds that could cause pain.#investing#investmentsHvala. Twitter će to iskoristiti za poboljšanje vaše vremenske crte. PoništiPoništi

Why combine social values and investing? What does one believe they are accomplishing? Own the market instead and donate your “excess” profits (vs ESG) to a charity of one’s choice.
