It really is feeling close! Was just at the pad, things are looking much more put together than when I was here in November! Obviously the biggest milestone is still the 33 engine static fire (maybe next week?) Keep up with our milestones checklist here! everydayastronaut.com/starship-orbit

If remaining tests go well, we will attempt a Starship launch next month

One of the things that blew my mind about ’s Rocket… the actively regen cooled heat shield, powered by the same expander cycle pump that runs the main combustion chambers! Here’s a teaser of my nearly 1 hour video coming out tomorrow! 🙌 (Today for supporters)

56 minutes of ground breaking technology, unique thinking and exclusive tour access of the exciting HQ and test site comes out Saturday!!! You’re going to LOVE this conversation with ! I had many “mind blown” learning moments with him! Stay tuned!

Here's my 5+ hour conversation with Tim Dodd (@Erdayastronaut) all about rocket engines, SpaceX, Starship, and the history & future of space travel. This was epic and super fun! youtube.com/watch?v=5eK5A_

It's fun to see officially quoting an expendable mode for Starship which would potentially be an expendable upper stage. Don't forget, there will likely be many variations of Starship upper stages, and for some use cases (deep space), even an expendable one!

Expendable upper stage may or may not fly, but it is an option

This tour and interview with is absolutely incredible! Not only do you get to see the test of their incredible upper stage engine, but there's SO many other amazing details and fun facts that I'm going to break down a bit to help explain! You'll LOVE it!

I mentioned Rotation Detonation Engines during a convo w/ , but I thought they were experimental & conceptual at the time... This looks AMAZING!!! Substantial potential for performance increase!!! Would LOVE to see more of this, & not JUST because it's an aerospike 😉

New rocket engine design, who’s this? #NASAMarshall propulsion engineers designed the Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine (RDRE) that may one day power both human landers and interplanetary vehicles to deep space destinations! MORE: go.nasa.gov/3WDK2Mp

It occurred to me last night while chatting w/ about rocket engines that multi-chambered engines that have independently gimbaled nozzles (RD-180 / RD-171) have high pressure flexible pipes bc the movement is after the turbopump! Imagine a 275+ Bar flexible joint 🤯

On Oct 1, '22, Firefly made history. We successfully launched into orbit on our second attempt. As we ramp up for more Alpha launches in '23, let’s take a look back at some never-before-seen footage of FLTA002 developed in collaboration w/ @considercosmos. youtube.com/watch?v=lRtJog

And today, a new record was made. World’s heaviest rocket!!! Think about that… more propellant mass (and enough thrust to lift it off the ground) = more potential work you can do! AKA: THIS IS A BIG, POWERFUL ROCKET THAT CAN DO MORE THAN ANYTHING EVER BEFORE! 🙌

Starship completed its first full flight-like wet dress rehearsal at Starbase today. This was the first time an integrated Ship and Booster were fully loaded with more than 10 million pounds of propellant

Really looks like today's Starship / Super Heavy wet dress rehearsal went quite well! At least from the outside, everything seemed to be perfect 🤞 Now we just wait to hear from / on how it indeed went and maybe what the next step is!

This is a conversation I’m very much looking forward to! What topic do you think we should dive into specifically?

I'm talking to Tim Dodd aka @Erdayastronaut all about space & rockets soon. If you have questions / topic suggestions, let me know. I love space travel. It's the perfect mix of engineering, physics, biology, geopolitics, and philosophy.

This is a real-time demo we’re showing here, but it’ll be super slow and the engine will zoom in and out to show you each step of the way. THIS is how I personally learn best, seeing things happen and getting to watch the changes. It will be awesome!

It's a gorgeous morning at Starbase, from NSF's south camera, you can clearly see South Padre Island, it's a great shot! Hoping to see the entire vehicle get frosty today! If so, that'll be a BIG milestone to check off our checklist! everydayastronaut.com/starship-orbit

The Pez Dispenser!!! This is going to be a big big deal when SpaceX can launch this much mass and volume on a single vehicle! 😳

Here's @CosmicalChief's SpaceX Starlink v2 Satellite stack picture from Starbase, January 20th, with brightened Shadows for a clearer view of the stack! I am counting 33 Starlink v2 Sats in this picture! Are any other estimates out there? ❤️🚀

Our team is going to reach out to anyone who MAY have been affected to make sure they’ve been taken care of just to be safe. So again, thank you for your patience and understanding and I’m excited to have a more robust customer service experience in the future! 💪

So if this happened to you, first off, I’m so sorry & I thank you for your patience. We had people reaching out to me often saying they hadn’t heard from the shop, which is so unusual. I’d reach out to the shop and they were like “we responded two days ago”, now we know why!

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! If you had problems receiving help or responses from our shop in the last two months, we found out there was an issue with Zendesk that was not properly sending emails. Our customer service was sending emails but they weren’t actually making it to customers

Small change of plans... and I couldn't get the animations done (the most important part of this video) before he left town for a couple weeks. BUT... good news, I can now edit the incredible tour / interview instead! So that will be next!

I'm LIVE to watch easily one of the coolest and most exciting rockets flying, #FalconHeavy! This one might be extra spectacular with the time of day, skies could be beautiful and we might get some awesome stage sep footage! COME SAY HI! -

But I'm trying hard to get it done before I head down to Texas for Starship action (likely the end of the week???). If I don't wrap it up before then, it'll likely not come out for a few more weeks unfortunately due to our team being spread out and traveling.
