I completely 100% agree, I'm personally pissed off that 'subscribe' doesn't mean 'subscribe' anymore. They only send out notifications to less than %1 of your subscribers picked at random & if engagement is low they won't send more & only will notify whoever 'rang the bell'.

The Academy also said there is limits to how many notifications they will send out even when the bell is checked if the video is not performing well initially. Basically, you have to create content that keeps people engaged for longer or else it becomes irrelevant even to subs.
