(con) ... ever tried to analyze a videos audio on a somewhat decent spec PC? Let's say, 15-20 minutes of it? Just building the waveform will take roughly 20 seconds depending on the bitrate etc. Now multiply that by ~500. (con)

(con) And that's just to build the waveform of said track. The Content ID system is far more complex than just looking at a waveform. That said it has to scan through millions and millions of songs in an efficient way to see if anything matches. (con)

(con) Just because "It's Google, they easily have all that processing power" doesn't mean they can just throw 5 new servers into their cluster each hour just to keep up with YouTube video scanning. That'd be a financial disaster. So yeah, next time think about all this.
