Why should do as the CDC instructs in terms of removing masks when The were wrong before? There is data the suggests new VOC are at least 2x more spreadable than B117 . Why would they put hundreds of millions of peope at risk in the face of this knowledge (just like last time)

Dominique Heinke @Epi_D_NiqueMy fan-fiction CDC statement: Dear America, We now have enough data to say that the vaccines are highly effective at preventing transmission as well as severe outcomes. This is great news! Most people who are fully vaccinated can feel confident their level of protection. 1/ pic.twitter.com/3Yn6CyMNjMShow this thread1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -

that's friendlier but just as confusing and troublesome when put into real life practice. The end result is there will be much more spread of current untested variants that we have insificitant data of . To me this is an economlicy driven decision not health . Let's be honest

Thank you this means a lot to me considering your an professional. I just wish there more voices of resistance . I sadly believe many people will get sick this summer because of yet more measures the CDC implements for reasons nothing to do with their job description

We are at a stage in the virus that personal responsibility needs to take over. If you get sick, it's your fault. Wear a KN95 Mask, Face Shield, Gloves...whatever you want/need. Social distance, wash your hands. It's on you to not get sick.

Pandemics/epidemics are *never* about personal responsibility. With communicable diseases your behavior effects my risk in addition to my own behavior. You can never address a pandemic considering only individuals. You have to address communities and systems.

Also this is why people voted Democrat not Republican buy you can see in the end. Minus some clear branding its virtually the same

There's enough differences in these administrations that go beyond branding that we don't need to make that argument to understand that the CDC is actually just terrible at dealing with a pandemic and a political appointee in government for the first time isn't an ideal director.

Check out the book Premonition. I'm only a few chapters in but it pretty well captures my experience with CDC as an employee and someone working with them from a state health department. In general, people dramatically overestimated the public health infrastructure in the US.
