I have no problem with circumcision if it’s a medical necessity—or if a man chooses that for himself later—but a guy just told me he circumcised his son because it reduces the spread of STDs. Even if that’s true, why would you make choices about his sex life while he’s a newborn?

Actually, circumcision is not an effective way to protect anyone from STD’s. There are studies showing higher rates of STD and especially Gonorrhea for circumcised men. It’s known the cut men spread STI’s at higher rates than intact men. Condoms not cutting.
