If religiosity gets you access to the transcendent then that overwhelms all other consequences in importance. Its like a utilitarian calculation where one variable is worth infinity
yes, but its a bit of a trick isn't it. If I say theres strict condition x on transcendence, then that x is not like other variables. In this scenario everything else is judged by mundane consequences, but positive/negative mundane consequences of x are meaningless
