I grew up in possibly the most diverse area of Toronto at the time, real mix of everything. Got the early, saner version of multiculti. Early prog movements retain much sanity; leaches out as time goes on.

Early progressive movement cashed in all the social capital accrued over time, still had a christian underpinning. We're now deeply in debt and the substructure's been ripped out. Compare the "classical liberals" to today, its ridiculous how much smarter they were
