    For reference, the presenter is apparently an Alevi Kurd herself. Imagine what kind of ideology drives people to hate their own language like this. So utterly depressing.

    Turkish TV presenter does not allow a Kurdish woman to speak in Kurdish during her program although she understands it. "This is the Republic of Turkey. We do not speak the East language," she says as reference to Kurdish.

    4. As the fault line in the Gulf deepened, Syria, Libya, Somalia became battlegrounds for (proxy) confrontation. Following the Al-Ula declaration, Turkish-Qatari relations will persist, however, diminish in intensity for some time.

    3. On the one hand, Turkey’s assertive foreign policy after 2011 has provided Qatar with protection to pursue a foreign policy independent of Saudi Arabia and the UAE. On the other hand, Qatar helped Ankara strengthen its regional leadership aspirations.

    2. The research also finds that Turkey’s trade volume with Saudi Arabia and the UAE has been consistently and significantly higher than its trade with Qatar between 2002-2019. Thus, Turkish- Qatari partnership does not have strong economic drivers.
