Sometimes London's Lost Rivers are found. This is urban rewilding. Firs Farm was a bland park & bumpy football pitches. Moore Brook was trapped in a pipe. Thanks to
@EnfieldSuDS it's now a glorious wetland. The football pitches are smooth. Flood risk cut. http://www.firsfarmn21.org/award-winning-firs-farm-wetlands/ …pic.twitter.com/WAh2MfUqtX

I love this example of how to treat a lost river in Enfield, the uncovering of Moore Brook and the creation of Firs Farm Wetlands - http://www.firsfarmn21.org/award-winning-firs-farm-wetlands/ … Thanks to the visionary
@EnfieldSuDS and local people! Plus side benefits like smooth football pitches.Hvala. Twitter će to iskoristiti za poboljšanje vaše vremenske crte. PoništiPoništi -

From what I've seen this is the most polluted tributary of London's most polluted rivers. The Brimsdown Ditch, which flows to the River Lea via Salmons & Pymmes Brooks. Run-off from industrial estates in Enfield drain to it. It can smell of fuel or be blighted by garish liquids.pic.twitter.com/onN6jW79L6

It's time to trot out those Killer Facts on
#Natural#Flood Management again! 1. Re-wetting the Exmoor Mires by blocking drainage ditches has reduced peak storm flows by between 22% and 35% compared to pre-restoration discharge.pic.twitter.com/RymdL06TGT
