@YouTube has changed something about how ads work, in the last 48 hours, and the experience is terrible. Massive pauses before/after ads play. No sign of the skip button anywhere. Not even on that 6 minute mid-video ad.

Just had a pre-video ad just fail, leaving me at the "an error has occurred" screen with the moving static background until I refreshed the page. Fix your stuff

That's odd! What device are you on? If you're on a browser, try clearing the cache and cookies. If you're on a mobile device, try these steps: delete the app > restart your device > reinstall the app. This usually clears things up but let us know if it's still not working.

Edge browser on PC. Will try resetting the cache when I get home

Cleared the cache and cookies. Then closed Edge completely and started it up clean. First 3 videos had no ads. 4th had a pre-vid ad that immediately failed with "an error has occurred". This time it did proceed to the actual video automatically after ~10s.
Loading seems to be taking a while.
