One case that really gets to me is @HouseSoot, who currently stands at almost 700k subscribers and is being denied their silver (and probably in the future, their gold) play button, despite so well earning their following over the last year or so...
I don't usually talk about the state of YouTube(a thread), considering I now stay on the safe side with launchpad videos, but other creators are suffering. Majorly.
@TeamYouTube , on the off chance that you see this, read it. Actually read it. And respond like a person.

...And yet Daddy O Five was granted a SECOND Golden play button. Let's take a step back and look at what each of those channels have done...

Soothouse: -Does Reddit Videos -Maybe a few false copyright claims -A strike or two -Some age restricted videos Verdict: Denied a play button. At face value, it seems fair. They haven't followed guidelines to a tee, they've used copyrighted material, etc... But let's go further.

Daddy O Five: -Abused their children -Said children were illegally in custody of the parents (laws broken) -Channels terminated -Children taken out of their custody Verdict: Granted 2+ play buttons despite breaking the law many times and being terminated. What the fuck, YouTube.

@TeamYouTube 's morals lay. And it's not just SootHouse, and it's not just the play button...Show this thread -
Dark Media YouTubers are being denied earnings for their videos due to creating videos around dark topics, which are "not suitable for advertisers" and therefore, they don't show up in feeds because it doesn't make YouTube money.

I remember when YouTube was a place for all creators. Everyone made money. Trending wasn't pay-to-win. Feeds actually showed videos that were related to what the viewers watched. But now it's become a fucking puzzle. Whoever can churn out "family friendly content"...

...thrives, and they have to work out how to beat the system. YouTube used to be about creativity and connection. Now it's about money. Nowadays, make a top 10 video or a Fortnite video and slap 93457 midroll ads and you're set. It's sickening.

We need to see changes,
@TeamYouTube , changes to actually fix your fucking broken website, changes to make the platform you built from someone else's groundwork actually great. You're killing a cultural phenomenon. You're killing the expression of self through video. Rant over.Show this thread
