If I wanted to work YouTube full-time, then I'd have to be working my ass off to make more original, and interesting content than just Speed Drawing videos, but y'know what I'd have to do on top of that? Copyright claims, partial monetization, and making videos frequently...
At first, I didn't really care because I don't drive that much traffic anyway, but upon further inspection, this looks even worse. @TeamYouTube just drove up the difficulty spike even further, and that's not okay for those who are TRYING to make a living. I knew that YouTube's current state was trash for for new creators, but this is even worse. I've FREQUENTLY refrained myself from taking on better video ideas because I don't want to spend the effort in a system that'll work against me...

I mean, I probably still could take a chance, but earning a living on YouTube seems like a nigh impossible feat to reach in my current state, and on top of that I'd probably have to run a Patreon to support myself even further. It's sad that has become the norm for YouTubers...

Does that sound like fun? It doesn't feel like it if I'm at the bottom of the mountain, foolishly hoping that someday I'd reach some degree of fame on YouTube. I've even lost so much faith in YouTube, that I personally demonetized all of my videos on my channel...

This feels incredibly discouraging, and this message being sent out to little YouTubers like me means that I should be seeking out a different job. I guess it's a good thing that I've told people that I plan on doing indie game development or making a webcomic anyway!

When I opened my first YouTube channel before my current one under Endangered CDs, I came in with the ambition to take on YouTube as a career. Now that dream is getting crushed even further, and the YouTube life just isn't worth it to me, unless changes are made for the better...

And there's lots of kids who want to take on YouTube as a career when they grow up. How disappointed are they gonna be when they find YouTube is a goddamn wasteland in the future if algorithm shifts and new rules like this are in place??
