    It matters because the media has been saying it matters the better part of a week. Whether it objectively matters is a separate question (it doesn’t and shouldn’t) but it can’t mysteriously unmatter the second it looks like Sanders may take the lead.

    The media obsession over SDEs in Iowa is so bizarre. The only reason SDEs matter is in terms of how they affect pledged delegates, and it appears that Bernie and Pete are each going to get 13 of those. Unless that changes, why care about SDEs at all?

    This didn't start with Romney. Conservatives have been extremely snowflakey about ordinary political attacks on Republicans my entire life while at the same time (for instance) shutting down recounts, purging voter rolls, and now extorting foreign governments to attack Democrats.
