1. While large parts of rural Afghanistan are ruled by the Taliban, this village isn't. There are just plenty of Taliban members who left the village but still have family there and allowed/supported female family members to go to school.

2. This school is not run by the Taliban and not a single paragraph says that. There are students, sisters, nieces and daughters of active Taliban members. Fullstop.

3. This piece says that SOME Taliban members welcome girls' schools (read the damn headline). This means that there are also SOME Taliban who don't embrace them, as written in the piece. This school was actually threatened by other Taliban who don't have relatives there.

4. The main point is that in 2020, the Taliban don't have a clear stance on this issue. Some are pragmatic & send their sisters to schools. Others are fanatic & reject any kind of female education which is, obvsly, a huge problem. Again, all that is written if u'd read the piece.
