When I try to speak in German to Germans, they answer me in English. That doesn't feel good.

Most do that to me too but it’s mostly because they want to practice (at least in my experience)

Went into an Apotheke the other day, showed a photo of a product and asked "verkaufen Sie das?“. Three words. She answered in English

I was in a shop the other day and the shopkeeper was vacuuming, I said "entschuldigung" and he said "oh, English, what would you like?"

I can tell you that here in Sweden I’ve had a very positive experience. Even though I speak broken Swedish and mix in a bit of English, people don’t laugh. They’re actually quite delighted that someone from a foreign land is taking time to learn their mother tongue :)

Yea I've come to understand how hard Swedish is with all exceptions . Swedes are pretty good at English though.. Should you want learn German in the future there is very little difference from Swedish
