    This is good news, but incredible that it wasn’t already law. Animals are to be formally recognised as sentient beings in UK law for the first time, new measures including halting most live animal exports and banning the import of hunting trophies.

    Anyone else a teeny tad concerned about the voter ID..even if you agree with ID Cards ( which I don't) can't they think their money is spent better elsewhere than trying to stop virtually non-existent voter fraud. You know..improving peoples lives maybe?

    As someone in ED recovery, I can say that this will be very damaging to a lot of people. This is not the answer to the obesity crisis and will just fuel the cycle of shame and despair that so many face when it comes to eating.

    – Restaurants, cafes and pubs will be forced to put calorie counts for the food they serve on menus under government plans revealed in the Queen’s Speech.
