I was asked to write about it at several publications. One online publication, that seemed to have no vision or focus, asked me to write about ageism in food. I interviewed a lot of people. Turned in the piece. They wouldn't touch it.

And I would like everyone to note that even though I'm 60 I can outrun all of you, beat you at scrabble, rewire a lamp, and cook you under the table. And I'm still hot. Hahaha.

Thank you for this thread (been following some of these events here also). As a 57 year old film/TV critic and culture writer, I feel this ageism in journalism acutely.

Thanks for the thread
@EmilyRNunn Clearly any news publishing organization would be LUCKY to have you. With the retirement crisis in the U.S. and hc costing on average $285k (out of pocket for couple) in retirement, it's not tenable. Keep this topic alive. Shame gets us nowhere.Thanks. This tweet has me thinking to double-down on FIRE goals. Soon to be 35, I feel I have to sprint to a financial finish line, not to bask on a beach, but to be prepared to only find slim-pickings in a market that doesn’t value me

You have time, but sock away a lot of money! Good luck! Be sneaky!
