    As mindfulness deepens, our hearts break open with clarity. Loving awareness holds this, even when it's painful. Learning to be w/ our pain without being swept away by it is equanimity. This mind state allows us to get in touch w/ how strong we actually are.

    Learning how to balance a sense of agency with lack of control is an interesting art. Perhaps this is what wise effort in meditation practice is pointing to. A way of being gracefully relaxed and yet, fully engaged with life and choosing where to focus our attention.
