Completely disagree. This assumes that an authentic perspective on a form of identity & identity politics can only be represented well or best understood by those who have said identity. Patently false. That being said, the spirit of better listening to the “other” is well taken.

It is ONE primary source. With that I would certainly agree. My point is that there is no reason some white people cannot also - with high degrees of credibility - shoot down other misconceptions (held by whites or non-whites) about minorities, etc.

I have acquaintances who are more "Chinese" than I am - even though their skin is paler than mine - because they actually grew up in China whereas I was born and raised in the States. I would expect them more readily to defend against Chinese stereotypes than myself.
