The tech industry is recreating the Company Town. People living on campus. Uber selling subprime car loans. Schools, food, childcare all managed through the company.

Nothing solves the threat of tyranny other than constantly updated checks and balances. That The People ever be vigilant and push back. Vague threat of future tyranny is not a reason to avoid programs that could solve power problems we're having now.

Gonna be interesting for sure. Still, looking forward to the industry boom that partially autonomous trucks will bring first. I'm hopeful the rollout to full autonomy will be slow enough for social changes to soften the eventual bust.
