The rule barring this at the federal level was part of Section 1557 of the ACA. It was due to take effect on Jan 1, 2017. But it was largely enjoined by a single federal judge at the last minute.

Of course, you always have the right to bring private action, and you might even win. If you have the money. And can find a lawyer willing to take the case. And like, won't die to whatever's affecting you. And even then you're fighting an uphill battle.

It's for the same reason that plastic surgeons can refuse to operate on anyone they choose.
-
It's not, but feel free to keep spewing bullshit about things you know nothing about.
-
It's stunningly fucking ignorant that you think "trans healthcare" = plastic surgery, when trans people have literally died because EMTs refuse to treat them, when trans people are turned away for having broken arms set, and refused routine labwork.
-
If they die or suffer further injury because a doctor has refused treatment, that's different.
-
They do. That's a thing that happens. That's... that's pretty much what this conversation was about. What did you think you were wandering into here?
-
If that happens, they may have a lawsuit and they should contact a lawyer.
-
Except it's mostly legal for them to do that. That's the problem. Like, sure, there *might* still be a case, but it'd be far from a certain win, and that doesn't solve the problem of worsening health or death that's already happened. You're not very good at following along, huh?
-
If what they're doing is legal, there is a reason why it's legal. Perhaps you should figure out why that is and think about it before opining further.
