If you think you can de-radicalize someone without a comprehensive knowledge of their ideology, organizing, and tactics, you are not converting them. They are converting you.

de-radicalization is also often not consensual. yes, every once in a blue moon youll be able to slowly pull someone back from that edge but honest to god de-radicalization techniques are acts of mental and/or physical violence to condition someone into someone else.

and pulling people back is, to some degree, a matter of chance. a roll of the dice. there's no guarantee. you can't make people save themselves, and all that
