I've spent the past 4 weeks at work trying to make sense of a deeply manual process that depends on customer behavior and sometimes there just is no solution. Humans are fickle. Algorithms just cause us to be more creatively fickle.
Never at this scale. Never even at this scale relative to what came before.

Hmmm. I would rank the printing press up there, though obviously it took longer. And the telephone.

The printing press certainly was a big one but it was still tightly controlled and literacy wasn't a given among the masses. Telephones are still 1:1 methods of communication.
