the tarps may be gone, but the men who took it upon themselves to remove them before the judge ordered them off are finally facing those charges this morning. i overslept and woke up with a fever so i hope it’s empty enough in there that no one has to sit near me.

the judge wanted to recess until 1 so he could review the circuit court ruling on the tarps. lambert’s lawyer has to appear in louisa at 1:30... so they’re picking this back up at 5pm.

wayne complained pretty bitterly about this. apparently he’s got to pick up a moving truck & move across the state tomorrow. the judge finally snapped and said “if the court found you guilty right now and sentenced you to jail, you wouldn’t be moving tomorrow.” see you at 5, bud.

here’s wayne making friends with a cpd detective outside after he left court this morning. charming guy. can’t imagine why he’s had so many run ins with the law.pic.twitter.com/ULNSLg7d8R

they dropped the assault charge against lambert, but both men were found guilty of trespassing & destruction of property for removing the tarps on a few separate occasions. unless these are meant to be served concurrently (unclear), lambert will serve 8mo and wayne’ll serve 5mo

Replying to @EmilyGorcenski
not sure who downer’s substitute was today but he was NOT AMUSED by the defendants’ total lack of repentance & insistence that they were right to take the law into their own hands.
