Who cares? Charlottesville still allowed it.

That is an EXTREMELY succinct version of last summer, but the point is we didn't "allow" it, we didn't ask for it, and we sure as shit didn't appreciate it.

So in other words, your town gave a permit to this group and basically had no idea what they were all about? Somehow all those counter protesters knew what that group was about but your town didn’t? I don’t buy it. Sorry.

But that's exactly what happened. Again, abbreviated version, increasing numbers of local activists were petitioning city council throughout the summer to shut down A12. We had Spencer and his shitheads here in May with torches, city did nothing. The KKK showed in July and... 1/

If you're actually curious, a great local activist to follow who's still all over this white nationalist nonsense is

I can personally attest that the community took exceptional effort to prevent the events of the summer. I can also personally attest that several UTR attendees are Charlottesville residents. Hate came from inside and outside our community both.

Local activists undertook a Herculean effort to stop the event, and failing that, to keep as many people safe as we possibly could. And we continue this work to this day in court and other venues.
