I need to be really clear about this. The far-right white supremacy movements in this country are not a product of Russia. They are not a Russian plan. They are not directly enabled by Russia. They are not puppets of Russia. They are homegrown American radicals.https://twitter.com/Spider_Hunter/status/976541014344204288 …

Doesnt conservativism promote capitalism at least as much as liberalism?
-
Liberalism's promotion of capitalism is more subtle, palatable, widespread and therefore more dangerous then the form we see from conservatives. Neo-liberals, in particular, are keen on excusing even the most egregious violations of human rights if it "makes economic sense."
-
I don't know how you arrived at neolibs being more to blame than neocons. The libs are the only one of the two at least paying lip service to the working class, trying to get universal health care, and help the poor. Of the two, who do you think is most sympathetic to your cause?
-
Your tone seems very pointed right now. I don’t believe you’re asking me any of these questions in good faith, as though anything I say will change your opinion. Have a good day.
-
Pointed in that I don't understand why you hold the neocons blameless. It baffles me.
-
Please let me know where I absolved the neocons of any responsibility. I certainly didn't write that. I recommend a closer, comprehensive re-reading of my statement, and after you're done, a good primer on why I think they're more insidious:https://www.jacobinmag.com/2016/07/david-harvey-neoliberalism-capitalism-labor-crisis-resistance/ …

The article says Republicans were the most co-opted by corporatists and most responsible for "neoliberalism." How does it make any sense calling what is clearly a conservative movement neo - liberal? It seems the term neoliberal is just a red herring.
