I'm pretty sure at this point we've decided that millennials are perpetually anyone between 15 and 25.

Yeah the in-vogue generation just means “those kids”. As much as I want to hate boomers etc even older generations are pretty meaningless.

Let's be clear: to most people the term "millennial" use just a replacement for "people I want to blame" and really hard no other meaning.

See I'm nearing the 32 mark and I have nothing in common with someone who's 22. That's daft. They grew up with mobiles and Facebook. I had tapes, landlines and dial up. Load of nonsense.
-
A generation spans about 20 years. Face it, you're a millennial. There's no rule that says every millennial has to have the same lifestyle/beliefs, though. Everyone's different.
-
Generations are basically meaningless. They have to be big enough to have impact, but by spanning any length of years they have people who grew up with different realities. Generations are a box that reality doesn't fit into.

This is making no sense to me!!! Brothers born in 82 but I thought he was a Gen Xer???? How are these classifications so broad??? How can someone theoretically be fifteen years older than me and be in my generation?!?!?!?!?
-
Millennials start as early as 80 and as late as 86 depending on the criteria. In some cases up to 78 too. But anyone between 78 and 86 sre in a limbo between genx and millennial
-
I was born in 81, and I remember the period in the early 90's when everyone was talking about Gen X. People my age definitely were not though of as Gen X. No on really knew what we were. I've seen the term "xellennial" used for those in that in-between space.
-
yup Same... in the 90 we were called the generation Y, those born from 1980 onwards... now we are apparently excluded from millennials and gen x delightful... considering millennial is another name for gen Y

I don't understand why anyone would use anything other than 18 year increments for generations. It makes certain logical sense (the first enter adulthood when the last are born), and it's nice and symmetrical 1946-1964: Baby Boomers 1964-1982: Gen X 1982-2000: Millennial See...

the second statement is true, but like, plenty of people born in 1996 are in their second year of college
