Legit question: why isn't the NEA calling for a nationwide strike at this moment? What are unions if they do not exercise their power?

Teachers are dying. There is an actual conversation about teachers being compelled to bear arms. This is strikeworthy.

I often think abt this but different states have different labor laws, like if my mom walked out and striked right now she’d not only lose her job but her license to teach which is employment suicide in that field

California is different. And tbh “unions” in America have turned into non profits or think tanks rather than actual unions. U might know all of this also, so, not trying to be splainy
