In other words, what he says is never a joke, even when he says it is, except for when it *is* a joke, and even in those cases there's more than a hint of truth behind it. Anglin is at root a troll, no more no less, and by that measure one of the least interesting people alive.

This is Anglin's Google Hangouts avatar. Does anyone know who this is? I want to say Chuck Woolery but I'm not interested in this enough to reverse image search it yet.pic.twitter.com/ebBZ1uq8lP

Yeah, you're third to fill me in on that one. Obvious once it was pointed out to me. I'm sure I have a touch of face blindness; that's my excuse here. :-)

Sorry yeah it’s probably so dumb that it’s beneath you. Me however, this meme hits my sweet spot. I find it interesting that they can’t answer sargon’s question about violence. They just don’t have an answer

Oh, the meme isn't too dumb for me (all of these people are plenty dumb), so much as it's an artifact of my mostly following these guys through their podcasts (because that's what's easiest to fit into my life).

And of course they have to dodge the violence question, for a complex stew of ideological and practical matters. They don't want to be seen as the next Tim McVeigh, and they want to be able to condemn antifa violence.

And they seem themselves as a political/cultural rather than revolutionary movement, content to shape culture/electoral politics rather than, you know, start shooting people. So they lay all responsibility onto the state.

Thus, government policy advocating for the physical removal of millions is "nonviolent," but some 19 year old with a bike lock is "violent." Neat trick, right?

The bike lock guy is more famous than LeBron James. They tell@me about him basically every day on Gab lol

It also shows what weak bullies you're dealing with tho. Any deranged neo-Nazi murderer is embraced as a saint, but just one smooth-brained chud in a MAGA hat gets his ass kicked in and it's basically just sobbing and crying for years

It's almost as if their entire rhetoric is built on projection. Even the "they cry out as they strike you." Almost.
