The Berlin Wall has been down for longer than it was up. But it's legacy endures because the wounds of forced segregation and arbitrary borders are not so easily healed.

my dad does water policy stuff and so ends up spending a lot of time at borders and thinking about borders and every once in a while he seems to just get stuck on the concept of them for a few days or months
