after seeing the alt right at charlottesville, i tried too hard to do too much - i tried using my access/privilege to find ways to fight and undermine them - we need to understand the threat they pose to everyonehttp://thebea.st/2EdS9bI

The spy defense sounds ridiculous. You don't play board games with Nazis because you're deep under cover trying to gather intel on them. That sounds dumb. You were caught and I wish you'd just admit to it.

actual antifascist organizers say that she was in fact gathering intel for them. Why don't you believe them?

Because, again, this is the stupidest explanation. But also - I have yet to hear any real details about the extent that Manning was in cahoots with antifia. Just some vague sense of, "Oh, yeah, Manning told us."

if you don't trust actual antifascist organizers to be antifascist, who do you trust? I don't get it. Why would Manning broadcast the intelligence gleaned from a spy mission? That's not how spying works.

I read the article. What I'm missing is the statement to the effect of: Manning intended to hoidwink the Alt Right and confided in me that she would be collecting intelligence from the very beginning.
