According to this article, there is a groundswell of deliberate harassment going on inside Google, instigated by Vox Day and other white supremacist sources. This is a bad look.https://www.wired.com/story/the-dirty-war-over-diversity-inside-google/amp?__twitter_impression=true …

This is purposedful, planned, targeted harassment with the intent to bring lawsuits.pic.twitter.com/DQSl059Iop

Being trans in the tech industry means you have to live in a world where you know your industry peers are advocating openly for the murder of your good friends. This is hard to stomach.pic.twitter.com/3DbuNvrLB7

I tweeted this yesterday. I take it back. Google is there. Why would you ever interview there today, with this going on, if you're not a white cis dude?https://twitter.com/EmilyGorcenski/status/956543218400849920 …

Google's not yet there. But it's trending that way. And if it does, that's going to have a big impact on the long-term success of diversifying technology.

Google is not a bad place to work for most non-cis-white-dudes. As @lizthegrey has said, people who are suffering repercussions are us activists. Those who just keep quiet and just do the work are not targeted at the moment.

I will repeat: the forced surrender of privileges and rights that your peers can enjoy is not a feature of a good workplace.

I agree. But Google is too big and too important not to at least try and fight for. That's why I do what I do.
