I've now spoken to multiple people close to Chelsea and everyone says basically the same thing that I've been tweeting since yesterday.

It couldn't perhaps be something like, "high profile people use their access to accomplish different forms of activism that most people can't" no that would never be a thing why would a famous person have access to opposition media

I see a big difference between brave protest and dumping hundreds of thousands of documents to Wikileaks. The latter was irresponsible, in my opinion.
-
ah yes, because no one else was willing to touch the story of corruption and war crimes at the highest levels of government before wikileaks guy began larping as benjamin franklin in a cupboard it was... irresponsible how dare anyone shatter the veneer of the military's image
-
I'm not averse a Daniel Ellsberg moment. But dumping hundreds of thousands files was, IMHO, dumb, not necessary, and could have placed lives at risk. Could she have achieved the same result by releasing 10? 100? 1000? I think she could have.
-
right, because committing atrocities wasn't placing any lives at risk, better to sanitize everything so some neoliberal worm years down the road doesn't have to tut tut about the whole affair while having done nothing in his life
-
Why not achieve both? Maybe I'm just a naive idealist, but I believe there probably was a way to expose articities while not divulging sensitive info. I'm just goofy like that. Now back to my tutting.
