Because there’s a very real danger that blurring the line between “crappy consensual encounter that could have been maybe not at all crappy if Aziz had not been clueless and Grace had been a better communicator” and “sexual assault and harassment” is genuinely dangerous.

Before you insta-ban me (and totally cool if you do) understand that I’m not coming at this from some MRA Bullshit perspective, that I don’t think the encounter was totally cool or even decent. But know that by phrasing this as “sexual assault” vs “seriously crappy sex”

I'm still so completely baffled by the blowback to Ms. Jane Doe's story and allegations. How is it "chipping away at a movement" ? How does it harm the dialogue around affirmative consent, or the dialogue around men of power using their influence in predatory ways?
